X-Ray Technologist – On Call

Reports to:           Imaging Center Manager

Summary:             Primary responsibilities of the X-Ray Technologist role include but are not limited to: rooming the patient, positioning patient and equipment to obtain the best possible image to help physicians diagnose, complete documentation in EMR, understand requirements for patient safety. Technologist will work as a member of the team, working with staff and physicians.

Radiologic Technologist Job Duties:

  • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media, administering first aid, and using the emergency cart.
  • Maintains production and quality of radiographs by following established standards and procedures; developing radiographs; observing radiographic results; making necessary adjustments.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department EMR records.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Flexible to assist with projects and other assignments when asked.

Radiologic Technologist Skills and Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed as X-Ray Technologist within the state of Washington, with at least 2 years experience in outpatient or inpatient setting. Experience with C-arm.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to tolerate intermittent physical activity, including sitting, walking, standing, stooping, carrying, bending, and talking.  The degree to which any of these is done depends on the techniques being used.  Must have sufficient freedom of total body movement in order to stand up and sit down at work station, be able to squat and/or stoop in order to lift at least 25 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Works inside under normal temperature conditions with adequate light, ventilation and space.  Works with others, as well as alone.  Must expect moderate noise generated form computer printer, office machinery and occasional talking.  Must be able to work in a small or confined office space.  Must be able to multi-task, and work well in a very busy office.

IT Administrative Assistant – Part time

Job Responsibilities:

Care Center Management:

  • Provide management and oversight of clinic operations.

Advanced Practice Clinician (APC)

Western Washington Cardiology is looking for a full-time Advanced Practice Clinician (APC), either ARNP or PA, with experience to work a flexible schedule (10 hour shifts), splitting time in the clinic setting and in the hospital setting. Our APC team is a three-provider team that works together for our patients and for our physicians. Coverage for weekends is expected, roughly one weekend every 2 months.

Job Summary:
Assists the doctor with everyday duties in running the hospital practice, patient rounding, cardiac stress testing supervisions, etc.Responsible for add-on office visits and Heart Failure Clinic patient visits in the outpatient setting.

Special Characteristics
Incumbent works under administrative direction, and in the hospital/ clinic setting under a doctor’s supervision. Is not in charge of other employees.

Essential Functions (required by ADA)
• Split time in our Silver Lake outpatient clinic and inpatient at Providence Regional Medical Center.
• Consults on in/out patients
• Orders medications
• Dictates history
• Works directly with physician for care planning

Typical Work:

A) Hospital

Makes rounds on all patients undergoing invasive studies:
• Verifies patient’s admission
• Dictates history and physical when necessary
• Facilitates communication between the cath lab and the floor
• Checks admitting laboratory values
• Notifies MD of any change in schedule
• Visits patient post-procedure
• Coordinates discharge planning
• Dictates discharge summary when necessary
• Writes pre- and post- procedural orders

Makes daily rounds on all inpatients:
• Checks daily status and adjusts patient management as per physician protocol
• Communicates with physician and notifies physician of change in patient status
• Checks daily laboratory values and makes appropriate adjustments in therapy
• Coordinates communication with referring physician
• Makes post discharge phone calls as necessary
• Intervenes in critical situations as instructed by physician.
Transfers and admissions:
• Assists in coordinating transfer of patients from other facilities
• Writes admitting orders
• Admitting history and physical

B) Office/ Clinic Setting
• Assists with history and physicals on new consults and follow-up for all patients, especially patients in our Heart Failure Clinic.
• Dictates reports as needed
• May oversee Coumadin adjustments for patients with anticoagulation
• Assists with patient management problems daily
• May perform occasional exercise stress testing or stress echocardiogram as needed

Typical Working Conditions
Typically works indoors, in either/both a hospital or clinic setting. Some weekend coverage is expected and days off will be adjusted accordingly.
