Senior IT Manager

Summary:     The Senior IT Manager will lead the WWMG IT team for our multispecialty group practice.  The primary responsibilities will be direct management of IT personnel, quality service and high satisfaction of customers.  This job description reflects the essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.

Essential Job Functions:        

Management and Project Management:

  • Provide leadership and oversight of all IT operations.
  • Provide management of IT personnel by recruiting and retaining staff, training, coaching, setting expectations and appraising their performance.
  • Work with outside vendors effectively.
  • Establish and maintain corporate-wide policies and procedures.
  • Oversee IT projects and keep the Director of Operations apprised of progress.
  • Demonstrate visibility and build trust among admin, managers, providers, and staff.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes.
  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness.

  • Ability to learn our Medical Records system to support and maintain GE software applications and all related third party software.
  • Act as liaison to GE for application issues and development of improved clinical document flow.

  • Participate in job skills training seminars as requested.

Support Team:

  • General troubleshooting of computers, faxes, phones, servers, and networks is a must.
  • Must be able to support the team and help when short-staffed or with increased volumes.
  • Must be able to travel to meet with managers and address their needs.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience as an IT manager or relevant experience
  • Ability to manage and lead personnel
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Additional post-baccalaureate studies preferred (Master’s Degree or relevant certificates)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT – preferably in the delivery of health care services
  • Strong knowledge of database administration and SQL (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Windows XP, MS Office Suite, and network access technologies
  • Willingness to learn new technologies within GE software application as well as other applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a Customer Service approach to all tasks
  • Experience in a self-directed work environment

Working Conditions   Works inside under normal temperature conditions, with adequate light, ventilation and space.  Works mostly with others, occasionally alone.  Must expect moderate noise generated from computer printer, office machinery and talking.  Must be able to work in a small or confined office space.  Interaction is busy, constant and occasionally interrupted.  Stress levels may be high.  Attend business-related meetings outside of the office. Advanced Practice Clinician (APC)

Western Washington Cardiology is looking for a full-time Advanced Practice Clinician (APC), either ARNP or PA, with experience to work a flexible schedule (10 hour shifts), splitting time in the clinic setting and in the hospital setting. Our APC team is a three-provider team that works together for our patients and for our physicians. Coverage for weekends is expected, roughly one weekend every 2 months.

Job Summary:

Special Characteristics

A) Hospital

• Verifies patient’s admission
• Dictates history and physical when necessary

• Notifies MD of any change in schedule
• Visits patient post-procedure
• Coordinates discharge planning
• Dictates discharge summary when necessary
• Writes pre- and post- procedural orders

Makes daily rounds on all inpatients:
• Checks daily status and adjusts patient management as per physician protocol
• Communicates with physician and notifies physician of change in patient status
• Checks daily laboratory values and makes appropriate adjustments in therapy
• Coordinates communication with referring physician
• Makes post discharge phone calls as necessary
• Intervenes in critical situations as instructed by physician.
Transfers and admissions:
• Assists in coordinating transfer of patients from other facilities
• Writes admitting orders
• Admitting history and physical

B) Office/ Clinic Setting
• Assists with history and physicals on new consults and follow-up for all patients, especially patients in our Heart Failure Clinic.
• Dictates reports as needed
• May oversee Coumadin adjustments for patients with anticoagulation
• Assists with patient management problems daily
• May perform occasional exercise stress testing or stress echocardiogram as needed

Typical Working Conditions
Typically works indoors, in either/both a hospital or clinic setting. Some weekend coverage is expected and days off will be adjusted accordingly.

The float employee’s communication, conduct and performance should support WWMG’s efforts in becoming a high performance organization.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a Medical Assistant Program OR completion of a Military Medical Corpsman Program. Two years experience as a medical assistant preferred. Experience using EMR is strongly preferred. Must be registered or certified as MA in state of Washington.
