It’s little known that arthritis is a common chronic illness in children. Arthritis in children is called Juvenile Arthritis, and unfortunately, it often goes undiagnosed and unnoticed. Parents may think that pain in the joints is just “growing pains” but it could be arthritis.
July is designated by the Arthritis Foundation as Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month, hopefully to bring attention to this disease that often strikes children. With a proper diagnosis and early treatment, serious and permanent damage to a child’s joints can be prevented and they can live an active, healthy life.
