Dr. Ghorai is a native of Alabama. His parents arrived in the United States from India in 1964. He completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University and received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed a medical residency at the University of Alabama-Montgomery and his fellowship training at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Dr. Ghorai joined the WWMG GI Department in 2002.

He and his wife Shelly, who is also a physician, enjoy spending time with their two sons and daughter, along with participating in watersports, snow skiing and traveling.
