Western Washington Medical Group — Genuinely Local

Since Western Washington Medical Group’s founding in the early 1990s, we’ve remained provider owned and run. With over 100 providers and more than 20 specialty areas spread across 20 locations in Snohomish, Skagit, Island and Whatcom counties, we remain dedicated to providing the best possible care for you and your family.

WWMG’s Mission

The mission of Western Washington Medical Group (WWMG) is: To provide all our clinicians the freedom to practice medicine with compassion and in the best interest of our patients and community. We are committed to providing state-of-the-art, evidence-based healthcare that is both cost-effective and personalized for our patients.

This approach to care allows us to be free of corporate systems when making important decisions about your health. It offers patients a personalized approach to care, unlike any other network in the area.

Care at WWMG is provided by doctors who are all board-certified or board-eligible, as well as highly trained nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The collaborative way our provider team works together offers a richly supportive environment, which fosters a more compassionate, empathetic way of treating patients—directly benefiting you throughout the course of your care.

Our Genuinely Local Focus

We believe there are vast benefits to our patient-centered approach to care:

Community Connections

When healthcare providers serve in one location, staying in the same place year-after-year, they’re able to develop real relationships with their patients. The continuity of working with one provider offers the patient a reprieve from repeating and retelling their medical history because that individual will already be well-versed about their journey. There’s no danger of anything being lost in translation, so to speak, because the information isn’t being communicated to multiple new providers.

In addition, the doctor will understand the patient’s treatment preferences and be able to anticipate anxieties in any given situation based upon simply knowing them better as people. With that bond developed, they can also more quickly identify outside factors that may impact their care and have a more honest exchange about how to overcome issues.

Collaborative Care

Because of the lack of corporate procedures, providers are allowed to spend more one-on-one time with their patients and take a much more collaborative approach to treatment once a diagnosis is reached. They will explore options and recommendations with their patients rather than dictating one course of direction with regard to their healing. This empowers the patient to be a more integral part of their treatment process and builds partnership and trust with their providers. When that trust is evident, patients are more likely to follow sound medical advice and ultimately see results for their issues faster than in a corporate healthcare setting.
