Mikaela Guimaraes, ARNP
“My personal mission as a health care provider is to help you achieve your health goals by connecting the dots between physical, emotional and environmental health and creating a care plan that considers your values, priorities, goals and preferences.
I strive to provide excellent healthcare with emphasis on education and empowerment so that my patients are working with me towards their health goals as opposed to being simply treated for a problem that they may or may not fully understand. By fully understanding and addressing the underlying cause of a health condition we can work to resolve it instead of solely focusing on treating symptoms.
My own experience with chronic illness inspired me to become a nurse practitioner, and has given me a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges that patients face within our medical system. I am fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese and enjoy working with a diverse patient population.
When I’m not working I love spending time outdoors with my husband and two children. I also enjoy weight-lifting, listening to reggaetón music and staying up to date on evidence based practice by listening to medical podcasts.”
